“Life is not merely to be alive, but to be well.”
~Marcus Valerius Martial
Man, I can’t believe the amount of energy and time I just spent ranting and blasting someone who works here.
I guess I need to Pray At Work. Either that, or I really just need to accept people the way they are and shut up.
It’s just SO HARD accepting people the way they are when you at least attempt to treat them like a human being and they consistently come back with being a big jerk! (Do you know how difficult it was to not cuss in that last sentence??? LOL!!!)
For real, why is it OK for people like that to get away with that?
This particular person is well-read, well-educated, and does not nor never has lived a difficult life. By the way, she makes sure to sprinkle her unwanted knowledge around—especially when you are not speaking directly to her. Augh!
I don’t know what her problem is, and here I am wasting yet more energy being negative by blogging about her.
This entry isn’t all for naught, though…maybe you will find this link helpful: “How to Socialize, Be Funny, and Make Friends”
I know it sounds so incredibly hokey, but check it out, especially Tip #6: Listen more than you talk.
It took me many, many, many years to fully appreciate–really and truly appreciate–this advise. People like to talk about themselves and share information. If you just shut up for a minute, you might learn a thing or two, and maybe find out how fascinating people are, and what they have hidden away in their lives.
