Then he mocks her again.

I am completely fascinated by Alice and Kev, a blog by Robin Burkinshaw about the lives of two Sims3 characters who are homeless. (A nod to Stepto for the referral of this blog via his latest tweets.)

I know it sounds silly, but it is completely brilliant! If you are a SimsFan, then you will understand.

As much as I have played the the hell out of the original Sims (and SimAnt, RollerCoaster Tycoon, etc,) I have never played the newer versions or expansion packs for the simple reason that Sims was too much like real life.

Of course, there are so many nuances in REAL life that would never be programmable, but the basics are still there. I mean, try to play Sims without the cheats, and the struggle is still there. The need to be social is still there. The stress is there.

In Alice and Kev, Alice is simply a daughter longing for the love and protection and guidance of her father, Kev. And Kev…is the most foul man you will ever want as a father, a friend, or a lover.

Like real life, this situation brings back haunting memories. It also reminds me of some people I know.

Enemies

Now being around him at any time is intolerable. Alice is feeling insulted and humiliated on top of being hungry, exhausted, filthy and stressed out. She hates her father so much that her mood lowers just from being near him. She is the most miserable she has ever been in her life.
